Amber Inclusion/ Moth

A moth is a winged insect that is closely related to the butterfly. Both insects belong to the insect Order Lepidoptera. To formalize the distinction between moths and butterflies, the names Rhopalocera (for butterflies) and Heterocera (for moths) are used.

Moths are mostly active at night (nocturnal). Their species could be crepuscular and diurnal. Moths differ from butterflies by their antennae, color, and accessory part. Their antenna are feathered (not clubbed like in the butterflies). They are dull-colored and have a jugum or frenulum. At present, there are 100,000 live moths in the world.
